IT Show 2006 Post Mortem

Now, Professor Loo will give you cute girls and handsome boys a post mortem on the recent IT show 2006 which is held from 9 March to 12 March. For those who doesn't know WTF is a IT show , just try to imagine it as a ultra BIG computer pasar malam. When I say ultra BIG, it means it like at least 10 times bigger than your normal neighbourhood pasar malam.

This post mortem will contain many different section commenting on many things so if you are feeling tired and sleepy, DO NOT CONTINUE READING... Or you will die... No... I mean you will fall asleep. Okay, I will now start on my detailed report.

Location
Location is very important to a IT show. Due to its giant size, it will need to be held at either Suntec or Expo. My favourite will be Suntec. Pui. I'm just being sacarstic. Suntec is a very very bad place to hold a IT show. Why? Because during weekend, couples, big families, small families, molester, wierd shu shu & mother pushing a baby pram will all gather at suntec to walk walk.

Having nothing better to do than coming out for a walk, all those wierd wierd people will notice there is a IT show and they will rush to see it even though they know nothing about IT. How do I know that ? I saw mother pushing baby pram in the show. Is the mother going to buy a new graphic card or is the baby trying to buy a pentium 4 processor chip with HT ? You tell me...

The best place will be expo. Very ulu. People usually wont go there to walk walk. But I have seen baby pram at expo too. So I think those bitches are mad. They just want to kill time by going to some IT show and thus making the place damn crowded and stuffy for serious customer like me.

Promoters
Business man are getting smarter. They keep on hiring more and more chio bu as promoters to promote their products. Imagine a chio bu who wear so little clothes machaim she never wear like that and she start to promote the product to you.

80% chances are you will buy from her just because she has a sweet voice and she smiled at you sweetly.
10% chances you won't buy because your girlfriend/wife is jealous.
5% chances you won't buy because you have no $$.
4% chances you are GAY and you don care about chio bu.
1% chance you going to be buddha liao and thus you see that relationship is nothing and you don care.

Personally I don really like chio bu promoters during show. Their beauty will confuse you in your decision making. Plus their beauty will attract many horny old uncle to IT show and thus blocking my way, making the place crowded... blah blah blah. Chio bu promoters attract more horny asshole than serious customers. They should ban chio bu promoters next time to make IT show a better place. Amen. LOL.

Flyers
Flyers are great way to advertise your product. But whats the point of flyers when your product is the same price as usual ? Take apple as a example. Their price are controlled by Apple themselves so the price won't changed much. So don bother to print flyers for it. Waste time and trees. Protect the earth. LOL

Flyers should have standard size and quality. Some flyers are big, some are small, some very smooth like magazine quality of paper while some are like toilet paper material. Size are a more serious problem. Sometimes the paper too small will drop on floor when you place it in a big stack of paper. Makes me feel like a litter bug. Litter bug is bad.

Products
I will talk about special products which I think is worth it or porduct that are new and cool.

Dell Laptop 9400
This is really a cool shit. Usually selling for $2.8k. Now selling $2.3k. Cheaper by $500. And it contains GeForce Go 7800 graphic card. The best graphic card for laptop in singapore liao. The perfomance is like twice of other graphic card. Cool shit. Due to next semster my school might need to use laptop, this is a good choice. I need graphic card to do 3D modelling and programming.

Sounds good right? But this laptop got many weakness. 17 inch screen... Too big. Cannot fit into standard laptop bag. And its 3.5kg... Too heavy. Standard laptop 2.5kg nia. And the graphic card is under-clock. It is weaker den it was suppose to be. You can clock it back to default speed but the temperature will increase so you will need a cooler. So troublesome.

Xbox 360
Another cool shit. I played project gotham racing 3. Graphics very nice. Price is $680. Wireless LAN adapter cost $140. So total $820 liao. But still cannot play xbox live. You need to buy from them... Like $90 for 1 year subscription. Nice one.

The cool thing about xbox360 is the xbox live. A service to let you and your frens to connect and play together. But you need to spend like $900++ den can play online. Is it worth it ? I dunno. I will buy it if more den 5 of my friends decided to get xbox 360.

The price of a xbox360 game is like $70 only. Far cheaper than what I expected. Ps3 will be using blue-ray so I guess there won't be any friendly games. If I play original, I will want to buy games that are cheap and can play online. Xbox360 fits the bill. However, I will wait for PS3 to unleash before making any moves. Rash move will only lead to death.

8GB ulu unknown thumbdrive
Saw a ulu ulu 8GB thing that can act as a thumbdrive. Its not a thumbdrive actually. Its shape is like a credit card. The thickness is like 5 credit card stack together.... About half of the thickness of average handphone. Quite small and thin. And its selling for $99.

I feel sorry for those who bought 512mb or 1gb thumbdrive. Add around $40 or less and you can get 8GB of storage space. Cool shit. I never bought it. Again, must be I pi gu yang. Regreted abit. But maybe I aim for 60gb 2.5inch external harddisk which cost $140++ at IT show. Cool shit too. $40++ more and you get 50gb of storage. Sounds nice... But do I really need such big space? I wonder...

Conclusion
If you want a IT show to suceed, I think you just need to hire me. I will plan everything for you.

1st - Location would be expo of course. Big.

2nd - Baby pram would be charged with a $2000 tax. Something like ERP. Once the pram pass thru a gate, police officer will stop the pram and request the $2000 as tax. Failure to pay this tax will be thrown into jail.

3rd - Assholes happy family(1 dad, 1 mom & a few below 10 yrs old kids) who bought NOTHING from the IT show will again need to pay a $3000 tax. This will seriously piss off asshole who aren't serious in buying anything. They will be force to go suntec to see see look look instead of wasting precious walking space in the IT show.

4th - Aunties will be hired as promoters instead of those chio teenager or those super chio model. Horny uncles will be pissed off and stay at home to surf prawn website instead of wasting serious customer's precious time. Serious buying won't care whether is it a chio model or average looking auntie who sell them the stuff. They are just interested in the product. Not the promoter.

5th - Accept NETS and cash. WTF is wrong with NETS or cash ? Stupid DELL wanted credit card. Fuck you. If I got credit card I might as well order online. Why come down to the stupid IT show ? Just to let you see my credit card? Of course is no credit card den go down right ? Stupid ppl.

6th - Make sure there is always a display set at the show. My dell 9400 has no display set on the last day. Wat a joke. No display set den you set up booth at the show for wat? Show off your beautiful promoter? Having a display set is a must. This will save your customer from pissing off and decided not to buy your product.
